Celebrate Your Success To Build Morale
It’s natural to focus on what’s ahead rather than reflect on how much has been achieved. Taking time to celebrate accomplishments, large and small, helps employees appreciate how much they have done. If you are paying attention to sales totals, whether individual, per store location or companywide, you will know when your team has excelled.
The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.
If your team had a great weekend, buy a pizza to enjoy after the store closes on Sunday. If someone does an outstanding job merchandising the entrance for a sales event, announce how pleased you are with the display at the event prep meeting so everyone in the company knows about the great job. Simply send an e-mail company-wide announcing what people have done right. You don’t always need to reward someone with money; sometimes a pat on the back will lift spirits, improve attitudes and boost performance efficiency. A little recognition goes a long way to build morale among teams and individuals.
