How did you hear about RB’s swimming pool business software?
It was either an email I got, maybe through Pool and Spa Marketing, or it was at one of the shows, or it could have been one of the Pool Corp retail summits. I’m not sure which one.
Why did you choose RB?
Let me give you a real quick background: maybe 15 years ago, a guy who developed software through Access that was designed for the pool and spa industry gave me a beta test. I ran this for years, then I found RB, and it was almost the exact same program: the way you enter all the pool information, the setup, it was really close. When I found RB, it was a no brainer for me. I knew 50 to 60 percent how to run it already. But RB was more specific to the pool industry and, to be honest, the scheduling module was much better. That was important to me. I looked at a lot of others, but RB just better satisfied my needs.
What was your initial experience like with RB when you first launched the software?
It was really good. The trainer said, “You know this already.”
Has RB allowed you to improve the customer experience?
Absolutely. The checkout is more streamlined, putting products in and just scanning. Everything is just more streamlined with RB. We get customers in and out faster, although you don’t always want them in and out fast, of course. It really streamlined retail operations.
So it makes your job easier?
Mine, but more importantly my workers. I won’t use the term idiot-proof, because that’s not fair, but we’re a seasonal business and RB makes it a lot easier for new people to pick it up.
Are your employees also happy with RB’s software?
Yes, absolutely.
Any closing thoughts on your experience with RB swimming pool business software?
I really like the integrated merchant services, the rates are pretty good. It makes it easier, especially with PCI compliance; it pretty much takes care of that. I look forward to the upgrade to SQL (the fact that I haven’t already is on me – I haven’t gotten my computers ready yet but am going to do that now). I really like the merchant services, the fact that you can pass merchant service fees to the customer if processing via credit card to build in that dreaded percentage in SQL, I’m looking forward to that. Passing those fees on is great for our bottom line while still offering the customer the convenience of paying the way they want to. I just like RB a lot. It does a lot.
RB’s support is awesome. Whether you send an email or call in, the response time is very, very quick. I really don’t have any negatives, I’ve gotta be honest with you. It’s a really great product.
