What prompted you to invest in RB’s point of sale software? What were your goals in adopting this software?
We needed a point of sale software (POS) that could manage both our service operations and our retail store operation, which we were newly opening. The system we had originally been using did not allow retail to integrate with service all on the same system, so we needed to make a change.
While RB offered way more than we needed, we felt it was the best system that we could implement to achieve our goals. Our goals were a centralized inventory management system, as well as a mobile system for in the field that our technicians, in particular, could utilize. This all needed to be in the same system so it could integrate with our existing QuickBooks system for accounting.
What was your initial experience like with RB when you first launched the software?
Overall, the process went as smoothly as possible. There is a lot to set up and learn how to use, which was overwhelming at first, but the amount of tech support we received from RB at the beginning was very helpful.
How has RB’s POS software benefitted your business?
RB’s POS software has allowed our employees to operate paperlessly while in the field, and have a lot of information right at their fingertips through the use of the MobileLive platform. Our customers also love the thorough door-hanger emails that are sent at the completion of each service. So, it has certainly helped with customer retention and communication.
For our bottom line, this year especially has helped by switching over to the new payment processor, which is seamless with RB. This has saved us tremendous amounts of money and has made reporting and reconciling our books much simpler than we had previously (we were being overcharged for our payment processing).
Have you tried other point of sale softwares in the past? What makes RB’s software unique?
Yes, we first started out using another software and it was great from a service-only standpoint, but once we needed to add in retail, we needed a new solution. RB is unique in that it can handle all aspects of our business in one platform, and is geared to our industry (which is oddly hard to find!).
